Athletes are seen as symbols of strength, determination and inspiration.
However, behind the glitz and glamour of the sporting world, there lies a negative mentality that society often imposes on athletes.
Once I was talking with my athlete friend, I got to know how society thinks that they lack intelligence, and that is the reason they chose athletics. This widespread stereotype not only undermines their intellectual capacity but also diminishes the value and contributions they make beyond their chosen field.
Also, athletes face tremendous pressure to perform well consistently. Society places unrealistic expectations on athletes demanding perfection in both athletic and personal lives. When these expectations aren’t met, society tends to criticise and judge them harshly. Athletes dedicate years of discipline, hardwork and sacrifice to excel in their respective sport. However some may not fully appreciate the commitment and effort behind their achievements, focusing only on the end results without considering the obstacles they had to overcome. It is easy to forget the countless hours of dedication, hard work and sacrifice athletes invest in pursuing their dreams. By appreciating the efforts and sacrifices the athletes make, we can foster a more positive and supportive environment that acknowledges the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Athletes deserve recognition not only for their physical prowess but also for their ethical conduct, resilience, and contributions to their community. Let us strive to appreciate their talents, celebrate their achievements, and break free from the shackles of negativity that hinder the growth and potential of these extraordinary individuals.
